AiB Team - Robert Todd and Theri Andino Hand Analysis

North opens 1 and East overcalls 2. South jumps to 4, and so West is in a pickle. He probably just doubles on values (and is also OK if partner thinks this is some kind of takeout if partner has a minor suit also.) North passes and East has to decide what to do. Passing is not at all unreasonable, and neither is bidding 5 or 5 (or even better 4NT - showing 2 places to play, and a minor.) But without knowing much about partner's hand except values, pass seems most likely.
In terms of scoring, this is the best action if EW weren't going to bid a slam, which it looks like they weren't. North has really no way to get out of his 6 losers - 2 in every suit that's not trump, so -3 doubled is 500 to EW, better than any score they were getting in game.

East opens 1 and South overcalls 2 (can't double because of the short ). West either doubles or just raises , but double seems best to at least try to keep in the picture, and he can always run to if partner tries . North passes and East just rebids 2 with nothing else special to say. South could now try 2, a takeout double, or decide he has done enough. Pass is probably the most common action at this vulnerability. This will pass around to North who will also likely pass given that the hand sounds like a misfit (West could have both Majors).
3 is pretty straight forward contract. On a lead declarer has 4 losers - 1, 1, and 2.

South deals and passes, West passes, and North opens 1. East overcalls 2 - a little light, but has good shape and hopefully a well-placed K - so South either doubles or offers 2NT. If North likes to open light in the 3rd seat then South should be careful bidding 2NT and instead make an offshape Negative Double or even bid 3. But if North is a solid Opener, then 2NT is possible. Let's say South bids 3, and then North will certainly bid to 5 and the auction will end there.
West will probably lead a and the hand is over with South losing 1 and 1. West must find a lead in order to beat the contract.

West opens 1 (way too good to preempt!), and North passes. East starts with a (semi-) forcing 1NT, so South also probably passes. West rebids 2, and that's fine by East, so then it will be up to South to balance in with a double, which he probably will. North is happy to offer 2, and that comes back around to West who probably passes red with not even a guaranteed 8-card fit.
This is indeed the limit of the hand, as North loses 1, 3, and 1!

North opens 1 and East passes. South starts with a 1 response, and West passes. North either jump raises to 3 or goes ahead and game forces with a 4 Splinter , and in either case South just puts this in game at 4.
When pretty much everything that needs to be finessed is finessable, declarer does very well on this hand. She always has the 1 to lose, and then one more loser will come about when she can't pull all the trump and ruff all the losers.

East opens 1NT and South overcalls with whatever systemic agreement shows both Majors - let's say a DONT 2. West has enough to bid a forcing 3, North passes (fits for potentially both Majors, but a flat hand and so few values), and so East offers his suit (also potentially worried about .) West likes the sound of that quite a bit, so if he can bid 4 (possibly being minorwood), he will (if he doesn't have minorwood available, he probably shows his stopper with 3 and then East bids 3NT.) Over minorwood, East shows his 3 Keycards, and that's possibly enough to get West to bid 6.
Fortunately (and a little predictably from the bidding), the A is in South and so this makes handily as East ruffs out the for pitches - and it is also helpful that the break 2-2.

South passes and West preempts 2. North makes a takeout double (or a really heavy 2NT), so East passes to see where this is going. South unhappily tries 3 (or 2NT Lebensohl ), and so North is kind of stuck with 3NT now. East may very well double that, trusting partner's red, second seat preempts to be not worthless.
This goes incredibly poorly for North. It's a little hard to imagine that the 21 combined points can take a total of 5 tricks, but that's how it goes. Assuming East leads the Q and West is perspicacious enough to overtake (seeing the T on the dummy), the defense can force out the A. Then declarer has nothing to do but take her 5 top tricks (1, 1, 3) and the defense gets the rest.

West passes and North opens 1, comfortable with potentially reversing into 2. East doubles, and South redoubles. West bids 1, and North rebids 2 as planned. East raises to 2 (not really concerned partner will think this is some huge amount of points since there's too much bidding going on for that to be true), and South bids 3 (forcing if NS play Lebensohl over reverses). West probably competes to 3, and now North would really like to bid 4 as minorwood, which it should be in this auction where both North and South have shown strength, but might be concerned that partner thinks it's just competitive, so she probably instead tries a 4 cuebid. South likes that and bids 5 (even if/especially if East bids 4), and so North has to decide whether to kick that in to slam (she should.) Of course, if 4 was reliably understood as minorwood, North could find out about South's 2 Keycards plus the Q and then it's much easier to bid 6 -- hoping to be off the A and not the trump Ace.
Of course, as it happens, all 13 tricks are here in when declarer pitches dummy's losing on a .
