AiB Team - Robert Todd and Theri Andino Hand Analysis

North passes and East opens 1. South also passes, and while West only has 5 points, he does have an Ace and support for partner, so he should bid. The singleton makes it a little more reasonable to go ahead and raise to 2 now, but if he's concerned about that, he could start with a (semi-)forcing 1NT and then bid 2. Trying to slow partner down might have been a good idea on this hand, as over 2 East is likely to just bid 4; but 1NT - 2 might have kept them out of game.
The defense will have to stop this game (if bid) from making by leading , which allows them to tap declarer several times while he goes about knocking out the defense's entries (A, , K).

East opens 1 and South doubles now while the auction is low, but that doesn't stop West from bidding 1. North then offers 1 and East could bid 2. South passes with nothing extra beyond his double, so it's up to West to compete, and he probably thinks that suit is good enough for 2. North passes (or maybe doubles to show values in case partner has good ), East passes, and South probably passes because he's got this defense to , even though he does actually have a fit. If North had doubled, however, South would pull it to 2.
It is possible for West to make 2, but it means declarer has to keep the losers to just one (to go with the 3 losers and 1 loser) - and that means taking the finesse on the first round, which may be hard to do. It's more likely that North is playing 2, however, and that goes down on losing 2, 1, 2, and 1 on trump promotion.

South passes and West opens 2, which North passes. East makes a positive response with 2 and West rebids 2NT. East asks after Majors with Stayman, but when West shows , East has to be careful not to give up on slam by just bidding 3NT. There's a complication that 4NT might be considered Keycard for , though, so East could just bid 4, natural, as a slam-encouraging bid. West might not jump at that since he doesn't really have a fit, so he might try a temporizing 4, but East knows his are solid and goes for 6NT.
Sure enough, once the A is out of the way, the rest of the tricks are West's.

West passes and North opens 1. East passes and South starts with 1. North raises that to 2, and South could choose between 4, 3NT (since he's so flat and has values everywhere), or double-checking that partner has raised on 4-card support (if 3-card raises are possible.) It's reasonable to try 3NT on this hand, but North pulls that and most partnerships probably wind up in 4.
In 4, declarer loses 1 and 2 - but in 3NT, declarer would only have 9 tricks with 3, 4, 1, and 1.

North opens 1 and East could consider throwing in an unusual 2NT, even with so few points, because of the relative vulnerability. That's still OK by South - and depending on partnership agreements, South bids 4. North probably just lets that go with the 2 worrisome losers.
And that's a good call, as those 2 are indeed losers (as long as the defense leads them right away), but everything else is fine.

East passes and South has an interesting hand - it's good, but still a preempt, so 3 it is (maybe even 4). West passes and North is very interested in this and possibilities of slam. If NS play something like 4 preempt Keycard, that works great here, and if not, a simple 4NT should be fine (also the bid over 4 opening.) South shows 1 Keycard and the Q, so North takes the plunge to slam, even though he's a little worried about the Kx.
As it happens, that A is the only loser in either slam, so this works great - it does help that South's are solid!

South passes, West passes, North passes, and East opens 1. South can now double on shape, but West bids 1. North keeps quiet, and East rebids 1NT, which seems like enough for everyone.
If South makes the unfortunate lead of a small , he'll give declarer an extra trick, but he wasn't ever in trouble in this contract with up to 3, 1, 3, and 2 tricks - in fact, it would be up to the defense to get the 5 tricks they deserve by leading and having North switch to .

West passes (maybe preempts, but really only if partner can take a joke about this bad of a hand/suit), and North opens 1. East passes and South makes a Jacoby 2NT raise (too good to splinter!). North shows no shortness but some extra values with 3 (maybe 3NT), and South can start cuebidding with 4. North bids 4, and South chooses between a 4 cuebid (letting partner Keycard) or 5 Exclusion Keycard. Either path should get them to 7. (7NT is a lot harder to get to in a natural bidding system.)
The only issue is North's little , which easily disappears on a once trump are pulled.
