AiB Team - Robert Todd and Theri Andino Hand Analysis

North opens 1 and East passes, so South starts with a (semi-)forcing 1NT. West passes and North needs a forcing bid, so he probably jump-shifts into 3 (at least at teams - at matchpoints, maybe just 3, but South probably goes to game with that too). South doesn't have the perfect hand, but could choose either 3 (almost just as a waiting bid) or a 3 raise on a pretty good doubleton, and either path should get them to 4. (North might do some cuebidding on the way, but South won't cooperate.)
Indeed, NS have the minors under control, but the 3 losers in the Majors (getting right) means that only game makes here.

East opens 2, so South starts with a double. West passes, and North bids some number of - if they play Lebensohl here, then he starts with 2NT, asking South to bid 3. Assuming South does so, then North bids 3, showing less than normally invitational values, but South goes ahead and raises to game with such a prime hand. North could also just bid 3 (even with lebensohl), and then South might cuebid 3, North bid 3NT, and so South likely to sign off in 4 with what sounds like wasted values in North.
Indeed, this hand works out so well that there's only one loser! It's probably a little surprising to declarer that the Q is onside with the preemptor, but declarer can actually set up the dummy/South to only lose 1 or 1 trick if he carefully manages his trump.

South opens 1 and West overcalls 1. North passes, but East tries 1. South might try 2, but with such a minimum hand, he might also just pass. West raises to 2, and East takes that to game with 4 (splintering into his singleton is both unhelpful and fraught with danger!)
East can make this, losing just the 3 tricks to South, but it requires getting the suit just right - not impossible if declarer is counting missing points and realizes South needs to have it, but still tricky to also then finesse North for the 8 for a pitch for West's losing , BEFORE pulling trump. More likely is that quite a few declarers just can't squeak this one out, although South being constantly endplayed is helpful.

West probably just passes, although 3 is not totally ridiculous. Instead, North opens 2, and East passes too. South could ask what kind of preempt partner has with something like Ogust, but 2nd seat red, partner should have a decent hand and suit, so it's reasonable for South to just bid 4.
Unfortunately, South's values are almost totally useless (the A is at least good for a pitch), but fortunately, the A is onside and so declarer just has the 3 losers of the 2 and 1.

North opens 1 (1NT also possible, but with both doubletons being so weak, possibly not the best idea, although it does get you of the rebid problem when partner bids 1), and East overcalls 1. South passes and West bids 1. North doubles that to try to get partner into the game, but that lets East make a support redouble if allowed, or just raises to 2. South bids 2, and West freely rebids 2. North passes, needing South to do any more competing, and so it's up to East to take this any further. He might try one more push with 3, but it's unlikely that West will accept, so this looks like it winds up in a partscore.
East and West were probably both worried about their suits, but as it happens, there's only one loser there. With the two losers, that means game would have made!

East passes, South opens 1NT, and West passes (lots of shape but vulnerable with so few values, not a good idea to bid.) North then can go two ways - the less optimistic road is to just bid 3NT. The more optimistic road is to show the and then bid 3NT, indicating some slam interest. South won't do anything over a direct 3NT, of course, but can show a super accept of a preempt, and that will be very interesting to North. This is a great place for minorwood (or just 4NT quantitative), as North bids 4, and finds out that South has 3 Keycards and the Q, so even though he won't know for sure that there aren't 2 quick losers in a black suit, he probably bids 6 anyways.
Fortunately both black suits are under control, and declarer just loses the A (pitching the losing on either a or a .) 3NT would have been fine too with 11 tricks if the defense leads .

South passes and West opens 2NT. North passes and East has an easy bump to 3NT.
A lead isn't pleasant particularly, but East's and South's holdings mean declarer actually has a few stoppers here. It's not hard to come to 10 tricks with 3, 3, up to 2, and 4, but giving up 3 tricks on the way.

West passes and North opens 1 (or passes). East overcalls (opens) 2 to make life difficult on the opponents, but South can still double (pass). West can pretty easily jump to 4, and so North has a tough call, but is almost certain to go with 5, which probably goes undoubled. If NS haven't bid, West probably just bids 3 and ends the auction there.
The defense against 5 always has 3 tricks here - 1, 1, and 1 - so this shouldn't make, but it's a great example of the power of preempts! the other way doesn't make either, but is a good sacrifice against the making 4.
