AiB Team - Robert Todd and Theri Andino Hand Analysis

North passes and East could open 1 or could call this a "balanced" hand and open 1NT. South passes, and over 1NT, West bids Stayman. East shows and West bids the game. (Over a 1 opening, West bids 1, East raises to 3, and West bids game.)
It turns out NT would be even better in terms of scoring, but this works for 10 tricks also. Declarer loses 1, 1, and 1 (unless somehow the defense lets declarer pitch a bunch of things on .)

East opens 1, and South overcalls 2. West passes for now, and North needs to bid something, although not much is attractive, so he might compromise and bid 2NT. South is a maximum and has something that might be helpful as a stopper, so he accepts with 3NT.
There is a making game here, but this isn't it - declarer can only get to 7 tricks (5, 1, 1) before the defense gets back in - although even if they duck a and give declarer that trick early, it doesn't really create enough extra tricks (or more to the point, the defense gets 5 or 6 tricks before declarer gets to 9.) (Although if the defense gets the wrong and gives declarer another trick there, they could give him the contract.)

South opens 1 and West passes. North responds 1, so East with a decent hand can either double or just stay quiet - the colors here seem to favor staying quiet. South rebids 1NT, West passes, North passes, and East still doesn't have the power or shape to say anything.
So EW will have to try to go positive by defending. West probably leads a top , which is a good call today, and eventually the defense should be able to get 1, 3, 1, and 3 to beat this 2 tricks, although declarer might be able to squeak out 1, 1, 1, and 3 first (but transportation is a problem for all of that and 3 tricks likely won't happen.)

West opens 1 and North doubles (too good to overcall just 1NT.) East passes and South bids 4 with this really nice shape. North then has to decide how much he likes his hand - South is showing a good hand but not one based on points (he could have cuebid 2 to show 12+ points), so North may suspect that his K isn't that useful and be worried about his , so he might back off because partner would need some very specific things for slam to work, and just pass - but ambitious/optimistic bidders could go on!
But this is the day that partner does have the perfect hand! Declarer only has to lose the 1 trick (on guessing the J properly.) Largely unbiddable, +680 should be a fine score.

North passes, East passes, and South opens 1NT. West overcalls 2, so North just lets it go (which he also would have done over just 1NT.) East is OK with that, and South is a maximum but vulnerable with no particular shape and what looks like a poorly placed K, so he lets it go.
Turns out that 3 would be OK, but this is hopefully at least a positive score (which 1NT probably would not have been.) Here in 2, West should lose 2, 1, 1, and 1, and then potentially have to deal with a ruff in North if the defense goes after those.

East opens 1 and South overcalls 2 (not always the best idea to overcall at the 2-level with less than an opening hand's solid values, but 2 eats up the Majors from the opponents, has extra shape this time, and the colors are right here.) West starts with a Negative Double , and North is a weird place - way too many points are being advertised around the table, so he may suspect West of having a long suit for his double, and partner to maybe be a little light with . But he can always run back to , so he redoubles to let partner know there's some stuff up here (he could also definitely cuebid to show the good hand with support, and then work on finding later - this auction could get quite wild.) East passes, South bids 2, and West probably still interjects with 3 with so much length! North bids 3, and it's going to be hard for East not to bid 4 with such support. South has the shape for 4, and so now it will be up to EW to take the vulnerable vs. non-vulnerable sacrifice or not.
If they let NS play 4, the defense will just get 1, 1, and 1. If they press on to 5 (which might not even get doubled) they'll lose 2, 1, and 1. Best option would of course be to get EW to press on to 5 and go down!

South opens 1 and West passes. North responds 1, and so East probable passes. South rebids 2, and that passes over to East who really likely just lets it go!
We can see that EW have a ton of tricks available in , but that's really hard to diagnose at the table with the opponents bidding. And to add insult to injury, South makes his 2 bid as well, losing 1, 2, 1, and 1.

West opens 2, and North overcalls 2. East has a weird hand for this to be the auction that has happened in front of him, but he bids 4 both in the hopes that he might make it OR that somehow NS will try to play 4. South probably bids 5 now, and then who knows where this goes - EW might bid more , North might be tempted to bid 6. It certainly doesn't seem like East will let them play , so probably some large number of , possibly doubled, by West.
So at whatever level West declares , he should lose 1, 1 ruff, and 2. (If East were somehow to play this, he can make 10 tricks in because South can't get the ruff and his trick.)
