North opens 1 and East passes, so South trots out 1NT. West overcalls 2, and North passes, so that seems to buy the contract when South isn't terribly excited about bidding his at the 3-level (although some may bid 3!)
This is a good idea - NS could maybe has done just a tad better if they doubled, but neither is really in a good position to do that. Declarer loses 2, 1, 1, and at least 1, and then also has to deal with extra losing (for at least one more loser). North does have a nasty play problem at trick 2 - but probably reasons that that best bad move is to switch to trump (and today that's totally fine!)

East passes, South passes, and West opens 1. North overcalls 1 (Michaels is possible, but these suits are so bad at these colors that it's not a great idea), and East probably just raises to 2 (cutting partner some slack for being 3rd seat, and downgrading a little for the Qx and only 3-card support.) South probably tries something like a double, West passes, North rebids 3, and East bids 3 (maybe - depends just how weak he thinks partner may be; and also possible West just bid 3 over the double to muddy waters that way), which should end the bidding.
It's a good stop - declarer loses 1, 1, and 2. (Defending or would have been good too, but unlikely.)

South passes and West opens 1. North passes, so East has a slightly tricky bid, but tries for 1NT since nothing else really fits (but pass is also not out of line). Everyone else is too flat to argue with that, so here we are.
But declarer is going to have a hard time getting to 7 tricks. South probably leads a , so the defense gets those 4 tricks, and at least 1, 1, and 1.

West opens 1 and North passes. East likely starts with 1, and South passes (those are just too weak to mention, red.) West rebids either 1NT or 2, depending on style (probably 2), and now East can just bid 3NT.
Declarer can just take his 11 tricks off the top (3, 2, and 6) - but even if the defense leads , they only get 2 because they break so nicely!

North passes and East opens 1. South overcalls 1 (although an immediate 4 also possible)and West passes. North bumps to 2. mostly to make a nuisance of himself, and East goes ahead with 3 (or 3). South is happy to go for game now, knowing partner has a fit and with the shortness in both of East's suits (or may make a game try in over 3, which North would accept!). West has a strong suspicion that may be making, and the colors are right, so he bids 5 as a two-way bid that could make or could be a good sacrifice. North is done, East is happy to try this, and so South has to decide what to do. He's already bid a lot on this hand, so he probably lets this go. We probably see a lot of variation in actual auctions on this hand.
It turns out that the vulnerable v. non-vulnerable sacrifice would have been right here! (Although South probably wouldn't have been thinking of it that way.) East actually makes 5, even with the bad split, with 4, 6, and 1 tricks.

East passes and South opens 1. West makes a takeout double, and North still bids 1. East passes, and South rebids 1NT. West only had that one double's worth of values, so now North can bid New Minor Forcing . South shows only the 2-card support, so North has to decide where to go with that - if he's still entertaining game, he should seriously consider and not NT because he knows the opponents have at least an 8-card fit there. If North knows South has a 5-card suit, that will help his decision to go for game or not.
But in whatever level of they wind up playing, NS should do very well - declarer loses 1 and 1, but the K is finessable. (If they did wind up playing some number of NT, it's entirely possible West leads a and gives up a 9th trick.)

South passes, West passes, and North opens 1 (maybe 1NT). East overcalls 2 (this is way too good for an Unusual 2NT, unless North did open 1NT), and South bumps to 2 (maybe). West passes again, North passes, and East bids 3. West corrects that to 3, but now everyone falls quiet.
East has 3 losers that are really unavoidable, no matter what the defense does - 1, 1, and 1.

West passes and North opens 1. East passes and South bids 1 (planning later to Game Force and show support). North rebids 2, and so South can bid a Fourth Suit Forcing to game bid of 2. North rebids 2, and South just raises that to 4. (It's not wild to hunt around for NT, but hard to do without promising extra values.) (North might also have jumped to 3 over 1, and South could cooperate with 3, but then things will fizzle out at 4.)
NT would work, but this games makes too - declarer loses 1 and 2, even if the defense doesn't lead right away, as pitches from the North hand don't solve any of those losers.
