Newcomers are always welcome...

Wondering what the game of Bridge is about? Finding yourself with time on your hands?

The Ventura Unit Bridge Club in concert with the American Contract Bridge League and Bridge Base Online has extensive opportunities for all levels of play. However, the greatest challenge is helping Newcomers get started, and we work to keep the spirit of bridge alive by teaching to them and all levels of players. Contact me (below) for more information.

Or maybe you have played before. We have an online place for you.

Actually, we have several places for you.

If you wish to jump in and start playing duplicate bridge, we have Online games Monday through Saturday. The Online games are a mixture of Intermediate through Advanced skill levels. The Homepage provides you the current schedule and instructions for joining Bridge Base Online (BBO). Or, contact me for more information.

If you wish to proceed a little more cautiously, you may choose to join our Saturday morning, Online “Step Up Lessons”. This class is for existing bridge players who are looking to improve their game. It is in a “play as you learn” format that utilizes Zoom video conferencing to create a relaxed social setting. The Home page directs you to All-You-Need-to-Know for joining Rose’s “Step Up Lessons”.

What are the requirements to visit our duplicate bridge club?

Simply an interest in playing duplicate bridge!

We do not distinguish between members and non-members. We all simply show up to play bridge!

Don’t be fooled by the term “duplicate”. It is simply a scoring mechanism to compare your results with others who play the same hand. Yes, at the higher levels it is competitive. But our club provides games where you play amongst peers – similar skill level and similar interest level.

The game of bridge is seen by many as a terrific stimulus to the brain and a great opportunity to expand your social network.
